About the Cover Face project
“A few years ago, I created a special project named “Cover Face”, the series won the LUCIE AWARD’s and made a lot of impact in the advertising photography field internationally. It contained five squared images, showing absolutely normal situations in the everyday lives, but the faces were replaced for raising the question: “Those same faces placed in another body and in another everyday situation – would have been the same appeal?”
I love this project, it contains a creative idea, a message and made without post production (covers were really put on by characters), and without budget at all, but the final result was so impressive, and won the New York IPA INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD first prize in ADV category.
From a very yunge age, I have followed my father and join him to many sets of photo shooting, I was his personal yung assistant, and after a while, he surprised me with the most beautiful gift, a Nikon FM2, Since that day, I felt like I started my first steps in the world, lerning so much about photography on the sets and from books.
My faithful FM2 had been always with me and when I reached 16 years old, I realized that the photography field, surrounded by a lot of passion, would be my job.
My first solo work experience took place during a wedding ceremony, and in the following years I worked as a professional photographer in many other events.
There’s no doubt we can all learn from books and get a lot of theoretical knowledge, but it’s most important for any starting photographer to participate in the work itself, to try different techniques and to develop his or her skills.
I love and attracted to the world of tales, superheroes, anecdotes, pin-ups, anything that can be defined artistically pop, the surrealism and the holy icons.
This attraction to the legendary world made my approach to the advertising field in the same way, the advertising field has existed since ancient times even if none has ever paid attention, the different versions of the Virgin Mary derived from the visions of the miraculously healed people and we need to thank Coca Cola if nowadays Santa Claus is red dressed and he is considered by public opinion one of the nicest characters.
The adverting has existed since ancient times even if none has ever paid attention : the different versions of the Virgin Mary derived from the visions of the miraculously healed people and we need to thank Coca Cola if nowadays Santa Claus is red dressed and he is considered by public opinion one of the nicest character.
ADV and Commercial Photography suggest, even without too much noise and sometimes starting from nothing, lifestyles and icons and for this reason they attracted me and aroused my interest, bringing me to convey my ideas much better by images than by words.
My style is divided into two main branches, pop concept colorful and Dramatic Black & White, however they are both visibly recognizable.
