LIOR AVITAN
“For me, architectural photography is not just about taking a picture, it is about creating one”
Lior Avitan, an artistic stills photographer, was born in Israel in 1974 and graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
In his 15 years as a professional photographer, he has collaborated with
renowned French photographer Frederic Brenner within This Place – an international project based in Israel, involving 12 well known photographers such as Thomas Struth, Jeff Wall, and Joseph Koudelka, among others.
Among his work for architects and interior designers are industrial buildings, building complexes and private houses.
“My curious nature finds me constantly exploring new aspects in architectural photography”, says Lior. “For me, architectural photography is not just about taking a picture, it is about creating one. Every project is an exploration aiming to expose the true essence of the project – the interaction between its vision, its inspiration and the human environment it exist.
In my work, I aim to combine documentary photography with an artistic point of view and to achieve uncompromising results”.
