We are delighted to present The BIG B&W Edition 2026, a special edition dedicated entirely to the power, beauty, and versatility of Black and White photography. Bringing together outstanding projects by internationally acclaimed photographers from around the world, this edition explores an extraordinary range of subjects, cultures, landscapes, and human stories through the timeless language of monochrome.
Trevor Cole, whose photograph was selected for the cover, presents People and Pastoralism in the Ilemi Triangle, documenting the people and pastoral communities of South Sudan and Ethiopia. Luca Cameli offers an intimate view of daily life in the port and fish market of San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy. Giovanna Aryafara presents Sadhus – Between Earth and Spirit, a sensitive exploration of spiritual traditions in Kathmandu and Varanasi.
Julien Sunyé brings together the human body and the natural landscape in Memories, photographed between 2024 and 2026 along the Côte Vermeille in France. Nick Dale presents striking black-and-white wildlife photography, capturing the energy, character, and beauty of the natural world. Photographer Grégory Boissy and journalist Delphine Barrais collaborate on a compelling portrait of Polynesian identity and the distinctive vision of the islands through intimate portraits.
Holger Hoffmann presents two documentary projects, The Charcoal Brothers and their Wives and Inside Wakhi Houses, offering intimate glimpses into communities and ways of life. Jamie Johnson presents Growing Up Traveling, an intimate, deeply personal portrait of childhood within the Irish Traveler community, developed through long-term photographic engagement.
Ralf Dreier presents three distinctive series exploring the sea and the striking geometry of architectural lines. Geoffrey Ansel Agrons explores Vietnam and Laos through the eyes of a traveling American, while Iranian mathematician and photographer Farid Azadi presents Threshold of Becoming, a contemplative project exploring consciousness through light and shadow.
From documentary and portraiture to wildlife, landscape, architecture, the human body, and spiritual traditions, The BIG B&W Edition 2026 celebrates the extraordinary diversity of photographic vision that can emerge through Black and White. We hope you enjoy this unique edition.
